I have decades of experience in designing Database and Spreadsheet Applications. In most cases I can have a relatively simple database designed and implemented fairly quickly at a very affordable rate.

Here is where I pull out all the stops. You can have an MS Access Database that is local to your machine that is storing information that you have entered. This information can be automatically transferred to a MySQL Database on your website that can be viewed by online visitors. The process includes creating an XML document that is transferred to the website and then a PHP server parses through the XML document placing the information into the MySQL database that is online.

Other options include having a MySQL on line database that online visitors enter information into and a local MS Access Database where a different set of information is stored. The information in both databases can then be synchronized together.

What follows are additional skill sets that I believe any company would find useful.

I taught Computer Science Evening Classes for nine semesters, in the late 1980's at what was then Rogers State College. It is currently Rogers State University, Claremore, OK. Classes taught: Introduction to CS, Pascal, Basic, Fortran, C, Word Processing, Spreadsheet Design and Database Design. If a person can teach a somewhat technical field like Computer Science, then teaching anything else is easy.

I have had many management experiences in my career. The last position of any relevance was when I worked at WilTel's Advanced Technology Group (ATG) in the early 1990's. Since 1994, I have been self employeed.

WilTel started out as Williams Telecommunications Group (WTG), later became WilTel. ATG, the corporate entity I worked for was sold to Bernie Ebbers of LDDS which later became part of Worldcom. And we all know what happened there.

While I was at ATG, I was a Senior Software Engineer, Project Specialist, Manager of System Administration and Manager of Systems Integration. I reported directly to the Vice President at the time. Between the two groups I had more than 25 people under my supervision.

Besides doing budgets for my departments I also instituted many innovative trends. I had all of my critical functionality, in the Systems Admin group covered with employee cross training. There were three main divisions, each with a lead person. Every other lead person had a working knowledge of minimal emergency procedures. For example: The main file server has just gone down, for no apparent reason. The lead person in this position is away at a conference and can not be reached, the next person in line is called, they respond and bring the unit back online.

I also implemented cost cutting ideas. Once I am in a position where I can analyze what is going on I usually find ways to stream line and cut costs. I actually won an award for my contributions for saving money. One example of this was in the area of Software Engineering. We were working on a very compute intensive program and the compile times (how long it took the computer to convert source code written in a program language to machine language that the machine could execute) were outrageously long, more than 45 minutes to an hour. When this is going on you have engineers sitting around twiddling their thumbs that are making more than $70.00 per hour. It does not take a brain surgeon to figure out that a $50,000.00 compute server that can compile the programs in several minutes will pay for itself in a few months. I purchased seven compute servers which streamlined the whole ATG development environment.

Management also implies working within company guidelines to create an environment where employees can reach their full potential. My job was to pave the way, get rid of red tape, move obstacles out of the way so people could spend time getting their jobs done rather than worry about how to get a necessary physical resource.

In another company, Medical Data Processing, a small entrepreneurial company, I was a Senior Programmer Analyst that performed System Installations, Conversions, Program Design, Troubleshooting and Support. As more systems were installed, I was tasked with creating a small but effective Computer Support Center. Eighty percent of the issues could be handled by telephone. The remaining twenty percent resulted in support personnel going on site to perform the necessary task.

I analyze the site and if necessary convert the site use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) This separates 'Content' from 'Style. Once this is done,it becomes much easier to change the site at a later time. If the site already has quite a bit of embedded formatting or uses a lot of tables for formatting that is in the HTML, this process will take a little longer, but the benefits far outweigh the little bit of extra work.

• The features and functions of the site are limited

For this scenario, I will repackage the content in a more modern format (a "theme" consistent with the organization's image) and add some features and functions to round-out the site (such as a search engine link, a banner or two, photographs, and graphics/logos). Content will also be refreshed to make sure that it is as current as possible.

The website Overhaul is more involved. This is almost the same as creating a brand new site. If there is an existing site in place it can often make this process a little easier. Occasionally, an existing site has reusable content and thematic style. Performing this service will be more complex than the Face-Lift or Tune Up.
